Healthcare for Montanans Scholarship

New West Health Services announces the 2010/2011 "Health Care for Montanans" scholarship program aimed at helping to address healthcare shortage areas. For the third year, New West will grant scholarships to help educate Montana's future health care professionals at Montana institutions of higher education.

The "Health Care for Montanans" program will award a maximum of 12 scholarships during the Spring 2010 semester. Each bachelors or masters degree program scholarship is $2,000 and for two-year associate’s degree programs, the scholarship is $1,000. These scholarships will be used toward the 2010/2011 academic year tuition.

The scholarships can be used at the following four-year college or university and two-year community college within the state university system which offer degrees in the health care shortage related field:

• Montana State University-Bozeman
• Montana State University-Billings
• Montana State University-Northern
• University of Montana-Missoula
• Montana Tech of the University of Montana-Butte
• Carroll College-Helena
• University of Great Falls–Great Falls
• Rocky Mountain College-Billings
• MSU College of Technology-Great Falls, Billings
• U of M Campuses
• College of Technology-Missoula
• Helena College of Technology
• Montana Tech College of Technology-Butte
• Flathead Community College
• Miles Community College-Miles City
• Salish Kootenai College-Pablo

Completed scholarship applications will be due by Monday, March 24, 2010 and should be returned to the New West headquarters in Helena. The winners will be announced the first week of April 2010.
