Healthcare for Montanans Scholarship

New West Health Services is continuing the "Health Care for Montanans" scholarship program. For the second year, the health insurance company will grant scholarships to help keep Montana health care students in Montana after graduation.

The "Health Care for Montanans" program will award a maximum of 9 scholarships during the Spring 2009 semester. Each bachelors or masters degree program scholarship will be for $2,000 and for two-year associate’s degree programs, the scholarship will be for $1,000. These scholarships will be used to pay for classes during the 2009/2010 academic year.

The scholarships can be used at the following four-year college or university and two-year community college within the state university system which offers degrees in the health care shortage areas including:

• Montana State University-Bozeman
• Montana State University-Billings
• Montana State University-Northern
• University of Montana-Missoula
• Montana Tech of the University of Montana-Butte
• Carroll College-Helena
• University of Great Falls–Great Falls
• Rocky Mountain College-Billings
• Helena College of Technology
• Flathead Valley Community College

Completed scholarship applications will be due by Wednesday, April 15, 2009, and should be returned to the New West headquarters in Helena. The winners will be announced by April 30, 2009.
