About New West

New West Health Services is Montana’s provider-sponsored health plan. With our headquarters in Helena, operations center in Kalispell and regional offices in Billings and Missoula, we proudly serve the fourth largest state. Since beginning operations in 1998, we've created partnerships with over 4,600 medical providers and now serve over 40,000 members and over 700 employer groups.

We believe Montanans want and need a company that offers health plans that give them the opportunity to maintain their health, as well as providing coverage for illness and injuries. It is our job to help our members understand their health care options and benefits, so they, along with their providers, can make the most appropriate decisions about the care they need. Basic to all New West health benefit plans is upfront preventive care.

New West offer employers and individuals a full-line of managed care and indemnity benefit plans, so they can choose the plan that works for them. We also provide third-party administrative services for large, self-funded employers. New West Medicare Advantage is an increasing benefit offering for eligible Montanans and has grown from about 1100 members in 2007 to over 4900 Montanans in 2010.

New West provides innovative member tools, such as the ability to manage health savings accounts online, notification of claims status and online balance payment options, and access to view deductible status and out-of-pocket costs. A health risk assessment complete with health management tools to promote a healthy lifestyle and scheduled health messaging geared to identified health needs is a recent addition. A core vision benefit provides easy access to basic screening for certain high-risk conditions for members who may be disinclined to schedule regular screening exams.
